‘Constructing the Figure and Form’ class 2026- MONDAYS

A$650.00

Mondays, 10am -12.30pm

Final glazing session: 10am- 1pm

Commences Sept 21

This 7 week class focuses on traditional ceramic techniques to create stylised figurative and sculptural ceramics. You will learn a broad range of skills such as figurative proportion, slab, pinch and coil construction. Exploring gesture within the human form, you will learn how to construct hands and how to create mood. These skills are transferral for the creation of non figurative sculptural or vessel forms.

This small class facilitates the teaching of an individual sculptural project over the 7 week period. It is designed to allow you the time to develop and refine your skills through the creation of a figurative sculpture over an extended period.

Please Note.: There is a 3 week break between the 6th class (Oct 26) and the final class (Nov 16) to allow for drying and bisque firing for the application of colour and glazing in the final session. If the sculpture created is large, the glazing session may be postponed to Nov 23 to ensure it is properly dry to bisque fire.
